MT. EVANS SUNRISE ELOPEMENT

We woke up sleepy and confused at about 1:30am, drove 2.5 hours to the trailhead, then started our hike up to Mt. Evans at about 4:30am with Angela + Jay. We hiked through some pretty gnarly wind and did a bit of slippin’ and slidin’ on the snow, but alas, we made it to the top!

The coolest part of the day was how important the hike was to our couple. As long as they got to hike up a 14er together on their wedding day, they didn’t really care where they said their vows - in fact, we didn’t even do the ceremony at the top because of the crazy wind. And as you may know, there’s an actual road up to Mount Evans, so they could have easily just drove to the top and voided the strenuous hike and harsh conditions. But they wanted the adventure, they wanted the challenge, and they wanted to do something they enjoyed on their wedding day. We love that to pieces.
